If you are using Firefox, you can add an extention called Downloadhelper.

You can get it from here

Install and restart Firefox.

Now next to the address bar at the top of your browser you will see a little graphic that looks like three circles joined. When you go to a page with an embeded item on it, like youtube, the three little circles will be come coloured and animated and a little arrow will appear next to the it. If there is nothing to download, the little animation will be still and colourless.

Click the arrow and the name of the movie will appear. Click the name of the file and it wil download.

Note that these are .flv files which are a type of flash. You will need to get a free flv player to watch

Not sure why this is happening. MAybe it did not install properly. Check the following.

Goto top of the firefox browser and click on Tools
Run your curser down till you come to Add-ons
Click on Add-ons and a new small window will appear

If it is installed, you should see Downloadhelper 2.3.2 in the add ons. If it isnt there, it didnt install. Check to see if it enabled.

If not, enable it and restart Firefox.

It should work, but thats easy to say right?

The icon (three circles) i mentioned look like this and are placd to the right of the address bar at the top.

Open the link in the cut and paste and you will see a picture of what it should look like when it is installed

Ok, failing this and the download doesnt work, there is a work around.

Copy this into your browser. Wait a little while and a save as box will appear allowing you save the flv file. Good luck

Check the Technical Questions either today or tomorrow and I will show everyone not sure a way to save embedded files like this for themselves using Firefox and IE.

if you install the K-LITE codec pack, then any player that you have, will be able to show FLV files.
there are 3 versions, basic , standard and full, while I didnt personally sit and read the differences, Full download will give you every codec you will ever need
