Error downloading codec

Post by Bacchus »

Hey Gang,

some video files give me this error message on my windows media player. When the file is being played all I hear is sound, but there is no visual display. Do I need to update my media player, or is there another solution to this problem?

Thanks

codecs

Xvid codec pack - http://www.xvid.org/
Kazaa Lite Codec pack - http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/
Divx codec pack ( as stated above ) - http://www.divx.com/

all are good packs to have but all three have codecs that the other 2 dont have. so I have all 3 installed. and working fine. never had a point where I could not play anymedia file.

A word of caution with codecs - one of the big sites offering them downloads them with a little attachment called gain trickler. this is ad/spyware, although the codec is sound. Search all disks for 'gain' (without the ') amd delete or use ad-aware or spybot.
