I am deep shit.......

Post by wogga »

I downloaded DVDX and it has completely changed my pc. I now cannot view jpgs etc.
The pc just asks me to select a MIME application (Whatever the fuck that is...!)
All I want to do is view jpes from the Forte prog....
Any ideas how I can get to normal without resetting the pc and losing all my progs.
Please bear in mind my pc is all in Japanese so try to keep as simple as possible.
I'd be eternally grateful if you could help please.......
Regards,
Wogga the fucking useless.......

Assuming XP as operating system
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

1:double click MY COMPUTER on the desktop
2:click on TOOLS (menu) then FOLDER OPTIONS
3: Along the top there will be tabs, click on the one that says FILE TYPES

here is a list of all extensions that your computer knows, and what you have set to open them.

4: Scroll the list till you find the Extension JPG

If there is NO JPG entry in the list follow steps 6 - 12
------------------------------------------------------------
If there is a JPG entry, but no program associated with it follow steps 8 - 12
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6: Click the NEW button
7: enter the extension JPG and click OK
8: scroll the list again and locate your JPG entry and highlight it
9: Click CHANGE

a dilog will apear asking if you want windows to search for a program to open your new extension or do you want to pick one . in this case I think it best ( and quicker ) to pick one our selves.

10: select "seleck program from list" and click OK
11: locate your program that you want to open JPG files and press OK
12: Click CLOSE

Thats it, possible you may need to reboot.
