For some reason or other the bandwidth is very limited. I was wondering if you would try Rapid Share? Thanks!

As a suggestion to all those people that think they cannot host anything.. take a look at this following site. Basicly, There is a program that will take any file that you have, SPLIT it up in to segments, and then store it on one of a selection of online mail storage areas. Now, for example, for those of you that have G mail accounts, you are given 1GB of storage space, but limited to files no bigger then 10MB's each..... This program (once told that it's G mail its going to be uploaded to) will split any file into the required segments, then upload it to your Gmail account.

Then... Other people that also have this software, can be given your account details ( thats the only bad bit - but if you're like me you create a Gmail account JUST for this purpose, then it doesnt matter ) and they can download the files, and rebuild the movie / gallery / program whatever....

So, this is only a solution for people that want to host stuff, and NOT to host copywrited stuff ;)

What I am thinking , is we make a GENERIC G mail account, and populate it with stuff, then when we come to download, we tick the box that says "remain on server" so that what we download isnt removed. then we have a makeshift FTP for this commnutiy... (only a suggestion, and feedback is welcomed )

I took the liberty in converting the file to avi (DivX 5.2) and uploaded it here (use save target cause it doesn't stream):

I had huge diffs trying to download this (perhaps it's only me)

Got a DivX movie which started off very dark then showed a very clearly defined peehole, but sadly no piss emanating from it - will investigate further tomorrow ;-)

well, the space is my own and the only reason i uploaded it was because if nothing would have happened then this thread would have been full of advices on how "hotp" should do.

that is quite strange man. you write "trying to download this". what does that mean? did you get the entire file down? 11.8 mb?

The only things needed to view this file is the divx 5.2 codec and the mpeg layer 3 audio codec.

What is a Codec

Post by inquisitor_uk »

I agree with sprinkler and clansman, Common Codec issue. you either dont have audio, get blocky images, or it just wont play, all comes down to the codecs.

Codecs (for the people wondering what they are) are like interpreters, your player may not understand some files, until you install the codec that the file was created in. The suggested Codec pack above is highly recomended, this will have MANY MANY codecs, some that you may never use, but always good to have. Good thing about codecs is once installed onto the computer, ANY PLAYER that you have installed will take advantage of them, and use them where needed. (winamp, microsoft media player etc)

Make sure you reboot after installing the codec pack, so that your operating system becomes aware of the new codec's on startup.

:)
